Overall, Knockout City feels like the dodgeball game of tomorrow. Of course, there are also varying locations and game modes to keep things fresh. Moreover, it also has “a variety of outlandish ball types, rewards, events, and challenges” to make things interesting. For example, you can become the ball for your friends when you’ve run out of balls. But as of this moment in time, we have all uninstalled and have zero plans to ever touch this game again. However, unlike regular dodgeball, the game comes with tons of new twists you can only find in Knockout City. If they ever make matchmaking fair, we might revisit this game. Literally every single game, as level 1 players on our first ever night, were matched almost EXCLUSIVELY with kids that are completely decked-out in super expensive cosmetic items and were very highly skilled, they could catch almost anything and could throw balls around corners at us in such a way that you have no chance to catch them as you don't see the ball until the very last moment, etc. We lost 9 out of 9 games we played that night, and our closest score in one of those games was a 10-3 loss. As brand new players, my 2 buddies and I figured it's our first time ever playing, we should face other noobs and have a good time. Varied and USEFUL different ball types (regular ball, sniper ball, bomb ball, etc) and I spent 90% of my time in a private lobby smiling. Hysterical moments when you blast one of your friends in the face and their momentum sends them plunging off the side of a building to their doom. When I'm just messing around in a private lobby with friends, it's nothing but fun. When I'm just messing around in a private lobby I want to like this game SO badly but the matchmaking is horrifically unbalanced and broken. I would jsu hold off for future seasons when this game gets more padded out… I give Knockout City an 8/10 … Expand Theyre expected to add more content with as seasons go on, but the 5 maps we get now get boring fairly quickly… I was over this game after about maybe only 3 hours of play time… on top of that I feel like we need at least a 5 v 5 in a larger world, with more ball drops… too often I found myself just searching for a ball to go help out my teammates… Overall I had a really great time with knockout city, this game can be a blast. timing this right can make for really great moments, I was having an absolute blast working my way up to rank 5 and unlock the other 3 modes, a 3 v 3 party mode where every ball is a special ball, a 1 vs 1 mode with a circle closing in on you where there are no special alls, and a kill confirmed type 3v3 where you grab diamonds of fallen opponents to tiher score for your team and stop the other team from scoring… Kncokout Citys biggest downfall though is that it has a free to play mentality without being free to play. there is a bit of skill and strategy to be had here as youre able to tackle eachother and knock the ball out of their hands, or make them defenseless for your teammate to hit them, as you are bale to catch a ball and lob it back. at first you hve a typical 3v3 mode, youre put into a random map, and youre given a random special ball each time, annnd it’s the first team to score 10 knockouts 2 times wins, you run, automatically grab a ball, and youre off, holding down the trigger to target and smack your opponent to knock them out, but it isn’t all that simple. Where the game is lacking though is in its actually gameplay content. it isn’t super detailed, but the amount of choices is appreciated. you can craft your own and unlock new cosmetics as you play. I love how much customizable options you have for a competitive hero game. I love how much Knockout City Don’t Doge this one forever Knockout city is a competitive 3v3 or 1v1 dodgeball game, and first things first.
